Why our design agency is based in Nottingham

One of the reasons why we chose for our design agency to be based in Nottingham was initially for our fondness of the variety of food and drink on offer. (One of our specialist industry sectors is food and drink brand and packaging.) However once we moved we realised that there was more than one reason as to why we are based in the liveliest part of Nottingham.

Nottingham city is well known for its history and heritage from caves, castles, Robin Hood and the well known lace market trade. Our offices are based within Lacemarket which is one of the hippest parts of the city as it hosts a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Along with neighbouring Hockley, it forms part of the Creative Quarter which supports creativity and innovation. The opportunities to network and collaborate with other talented creative’s is a huge benefit, talented professionals like photographers, illustrators, graphic designers, web designers and developers are literally on our doorstep. Creative companies such as printers, packaging and media businesses have also become part of our dedicated list of Nottingham suppliers.

One of the other main benefits for being based in Nottingham is the travel links, having clients all around the UK and the Globe means that we can visit them with ease. Nottingham is centrally placed and we can be in central London in 1 hour and 40 minutes and even quicker to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. We can get to East Midlands airport in 30 minutes.

Quality of life in Nottingham is also incredibly high according to a survey conducted by Hamptons International Estate Agents, Nottingham ranked as “high” when taking into consideration happiness and affordability. In addition Rushcliffe borough in Nottingham is ranked number seven in the top 50 areas with the best quality of life in the UK.

Nottingham also has a vibrant cultural and arts scene from art galleries, art exhibitions to historical architecture, independent cinemas and theatres. Which means you can indulge in range of cultural entertainment from contemporary art, comedy shows, art house films, musicals, plays and pantomimes! Music also plays a large part of the cultural life in Nottingham from festivals such as Splendour to clubs, classical music and live gigs. According to a Spotify survey Nottingham is the ‘second most musical city.’

Fashion and food also puts Nottingham on the map from famous local designers such as Paul Smith to the Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem claiming to be among the oldest pubs in England. Nottingham city centre also has more places to eat and drink per square mile than any other city in Europe.

Whether it is arts, culture, food, fashion, music, creativity or heritage Nottingham has something to offer to every walk of life. As a design agency we are very happy to be based in this vibrant and thriving city of Nottingham which has so much to offer.
